Website Design Glossary
Tree Structure
A hierarchical organization where the top (root) node is considered to be an ancestor of all lower level nodes to which the root node is connected and of all connected nodes below them. A tree structure has one and only one path from any node to any other node.
Tree Topology
A network topology that is hierarchical. There is one and only one node at the top of the hierarchy. All nodes from the top node are Level Two nodes. All nodes downward from Level Two nodes are Level Three nodes, and so on. As in the star network, individual nodes may be isolated from the network by a single hyperlink failure. A single hyperlink failure to a parent node will result in partitioning two or more nodes from the rest of the network.
Trick Banner
A deceptive ad that tricks users into clicking, often by imitating a operating system message.
Under Construction Page
A webpage or website that is still being developed.
Union Compatible
Two relational databases or tables that have the same number of attributes (columns), and whose attributes are based on the same set of acceptable values.
