Subtractive Mixing
Subtractive mixing takes place when pigments of non-primary colors (other than red-green-blue) are mixed. This creates the perception of additional colors. The perceived color is caused by the level of reflection and absorption by the pigments. An example is mixing of blue and yellow pigments to produce green.
