Website Design Glossary
State
A set of attributes representing the properties of a component at some point in time.
Static Rotation
Advertisements rotated on the basis of the entry of users into a screen. Without regard to time spent on the screen, the ad will remain the same.
Still Image
Non-moving visual information, such as a graph, drawing, or picture.
Story Board
Coordinating the theme of a website by including key information about each webpage. The information might include Tile tag, meta tags, keywords and keyphrases, content description, name and size of images, linking scheme, estimated filesize, visitor travel pattern, hierarchy level and anticipated sub-pages. Each webpage gets its own sheet of paper for its own details. The individual sheets are placed next to each other in a logical order to analyze the quality of the thematic message coordination and shifting of PageRank.
Strikethrough
One or more lines drawn through characters, to indicate deletion, an intention to delete, or obsolete information.
Strong Tag
Used for stronger emphasis and usually displayed in bold font.
Structured Query Language
A language designed for interacting with relational databases.
