Website Design Glossary
PERL
Practical Extraction and Report Language. The easiest and most common language used on the internet to add interactivity to a website, such as the processing of form data.
Permanent Redirect
aka 301 Redirect. A web server setting that redirects traffic from one URL to an updated URL address.
Perspective View
A display method for a three dimensional product where every edge has the length as it would appear to the human eye for the drawing scale, and which all parallel lines appear as they would to the human eye.
Pharming
Redirecting a user to a different site, without their knowledge, often for illegal or unethical purposes. Often used to convince the user they are on the legitimate site so they will enter real authentication information, used in identity theft.

Pixel
A measurement of picture size. One pixel is about the size of a period (.) in 12 point font. Pictures, banners, graphics and monitor resolution are measured in pixels.
Plagiarism
Presenting someone else's work as your own.
