Over Optimizing Penalty
OOP. A theory that applies if a webpage targets only one keyword or phrase, and the search engines view the effort to be spam.
Overall Score
The final relevancy score calculated for a webpage based on its content score and popularity score.
OWL
Ontology Web Language. A set of markup languages used to process the content of information instead of just presenting information to humans. It describes the hierarchical organization of ideas in a domain, in a way that can be parsed and understood by software. OWL is part of the W3C recommendations related to the Semantic Web.
Page
A single HTML document also called a webpage.
Page Jacking
Stealing the design, content, and layout of a webpage by copying the source code.
Page Weight
The filesize of all the combined files on a webpage usually expressed in Bytes or Kilobytes. It is a major consideration in webpage creation because of the resulting webpage loading speed.
PageRank
PageRank is one of the variables in the Google algorithm for determining where an individual webpage will appear in the search results for a given keyphrase. PageRank gives a higher ranking to relevant pages that are linked from other relevant pages. PageRank is a Google evaluation of the value of a webpage in comparison to other pages on the website and with the Internet as a whole.
