Anchor Spam
Using the same main keywords on every link you exchange.
Anchor Text
The text that is used in creating a hyperlink, Google considers this in determining the rank of webpages in search results. It often appears to be underlines and of a different color than the normal text.
Animated GIF
A series of static graphic images in GIF format appearing in the same location but with slight variations to give the appearance of motion.
Animation
A set of images simulating movement when played in series - quite frequently stored in a .gif file.
Annotation
A note or comment related to the main content which provides greater detail or clarification.
Anti-Aliasing
A software technique for smoothing the jaggedness in curves and diagonal lines caused by low monitor resolution.
Applet
A Java program allowing viewing of a simple animation, calculator, sound effects or other interactive function on a webpage.
ASF
Advanced Streaming Format. Developed by Microsoft for Windows Media.
ASL
Age, Sex and Location of the target audience of a website.
