Dayparting
Adjusting advertising throughout a day, including turning ads off and on or changing prices based on target audience availability or budget constraints.
Dead Link
A link to a page that does not exist, no longer exists or has moved.
Dedicated Landing Page
A merchant-created webpage serving as an entry point for the exclusive use of affiliate networking leads. All affiliate links and banners lead to this page. It is usually a duplicate of the index page, minus a telephone number, so that affiliates will not be bypassed.
Deep Link
Any inbound link with a destination page other than the index page.
Deep Link Ratio
The ratio of backlinks pointing to internal pages of a website to total backlinks pointing to a website. A high ratio is indicative of an organic site.
Deep Linking (affiliate)
Hyperlinks that go directly to a merchant website's interior pages to enhance visitor usability by enabling them to click on banners and text links to quickly find the product page they desire.
De-Listing
The removal of pages from a search engine or directory index. De-listing could be a result of the website's webmaster or due to penalty for not following the terms of service, or because the directory is cleaning out or expiring files.
